Cloud Foundations: questions we get asked
What is in a landing zone?
Organisation hierarchy, IAM and identity federation, network topology, org policy constraints, logging and billing structure, and the Terraform that builds all of it. It is the thing every later workload inherits, which is why it is worth getting right before the workloads arrive.
What does it cost?
Serverless foundations without networking or advanced security start at $45,000. Add full networking for $25,000. Add VPC Service Controls for a further $20,000. Fixed price, quoted in your local currency.
How long does it take?
Fixed date, agreed before work starts, and the date moves with the scope rather than with how the project is going. The serverless-only foundation is the fastest of the three.
Do we need VPC Service Controls?
If you are handling regulated data or you have a risk team that will ask about data exfiltration paths, yes. If you are not, it adds cost and operational friction you may not need yet. We will tell you which case you are in rather than selling you the larger one.
Can we extend it ourselves afterwards?
That is the intent. Everything is Terraform in your repositories, with the module structure documented. We do not build things only we can maintain.
